About
Welcome
My name is Travis Retzlaff. Thanks for your time. đ
This site is the home for my media venture, 21st Century Adulting. My content is delivered here in written form and on two companion podcasts.
21st Century Adulting contains main categories.
Adulting - A relatively unlimited bucket as diverse as adulting itself. Wellness is a primary focus, along with other everyday advice.
Society is the macro view.
Stuff - Entertainment, gear, and services. Needful things you should desire.
Tradecraft - Code, content, and channels. Tradecraft is informed by a 25+ year career in IT, my 20+ year hobby of creating content for the internet, and my newfound focus on exploring ways to earn my keep by providing value to others online.
Who am I?
Iâm a 50-year-old father of 3 and wrangler of two cats.
I am a serial volunteer who has given my time to the community for over 15 years.
As a child, I wanted to work with computers or be a writer. At this point, Iâve had a 25-year IT career and am now ready for a second career as a writer.

For my purposes, writer is short-hand for creating any content from the written word to podcasts, videos, and more. Whatever vehicle best allows me to share the perspective Iâve gained over 50 years on this planet.
Beyond my social media habit that includes this site, my YouTube channel, and another local progressive new media project I am involved in - The Dairyland Patriot.
How can you support me?
The primary support options are either a one-time tip or signing up for a subscription at $2.50/month.
You can also check out My WhatNot Shop and check out My YouTube Channel.
I'm not doing display ads. Financially, it's not worth the impact on the information I want to share and how I want to share it.
I'm not putting up a paywall. Times are tough, and I want to provide value to everyone regardless of their financial status.
I'm not doing any affiliate marketing at this point. If I do, I will be completely transparent about it.
Why support me?
I'm asking for your support, so I want to provide full disclosure here.
I've hit a few financial snags over the last decade, including a divorce, multiple job losses, and years of underemployment. My immediate goal is to pay down debt and replenish savings.
I hope to be in a position to transition to this full-time in the next few years.
Why subscribe?
A free or paid subscription gets you one email a week. At most đ, life is busy. A few points of consideration and a rundown on new stories. The goal is more stuff, less fluff.
